There are no positions open at the moment, but read on if you'd like to be considered for future projects: We only ever engage crew on a freelance, per project basis, so don't expect a permanent position. Artists are sourced from our database, made up of people we have already worked with and those sending in their showreels. New submissions are kept on file for a year, after which it’s up to you to update us. Below are some of the sorts of people that we look for:
Production Administration
Large productions need production managers, assistants and co-ordinators so please email or post a covering letter and CV to us if you think you fit the bill. Please note however that without any animation experience, the likelihood of your CV staying out of the bin is fairly slim.
Design / Storyboard
Please send in a covering letter, CV and examples of your work (showreel/portfolio). The wider the variety of samples and styles you send in, the better. For designers, we like to see rough designs, clean-ups and turnarounds in a range of styles as well as examples of life-drawing. For board artists, a few different styles of board are really useful for us to look at along with any design work you want to show us.
Animation
If producing a traditional 2D show, the layout and animation work will generally take place overseas. Nevertheless we do produce pilots in-house and are always interested in seeing traditional animation work, just in case. More recently, we have been producing more animation work digitally, so good Flash, Toon Boom, or Cel-action animators will sometimes be required. Again, send us your CV and a good variation of work on a showreel and you could be lucky.
Digital Painting and Compositing
We still have a number of Animo stations on which we not only complete our own work, but also service work. If you have experience of the software, please send a CV, covering letter and showreel.
Graduates
If you're an animation graduate and are looking for work or would just like us to take a look at your showreel/portfolio, we’re happy to offer advice. Although we’re not in a position to run graduate training schemes, we sometimes offer short-term work experience depending on our own studio requirements. If you’re interested, please send in your CV and showreel together with a covering letter detailing your areas of interest.
Under-Graduate Work Experience
We do work quite closely with some of the animation colleges and may from time to time offer work experience in the studio to under-graduates. Please note however, that we cannot offer work experience to the under 18’s.
